Machined from a 12.5-mm (1/2-inch) aluminum plate and utilizing CMC’s superior proprietary finish for even longer wear resistance, the Rappel 8 contains almost twice the material of other small 8s, providing better heat dissipation. Because the Rappel 8 was optimized for use with NFPA Technical Use rope 9.5-11 mm (3/8-7/16 in), it is certified Technical Use. * Certified range of rope diameters and CMC’s recommendation for best performance. About CMC’s Super Black Finish The CMC 3D, Rescue Rack, Rappel 8, and Rescue 8 products feature an exceptionally long-wear proprietary finish because typical hard or soft anodizing on aluminum descenders eventually wears through. This finish also prevents transfer of material onto the rope, common with bare aluminum components. After years of heavy use, our products and test samples with this Super Black Finish continue to be used in CMC School classes without showing any indication of the finish wearing through. The Petzl CHICANE auxiliary braking device allows ZIGZAG and ZIGZAG PLUS mechanical Prusiks to be used on single ropes. It provides continuous additional friction on descents. The excellent compatibility of the CHICANE and mechanical Prusik as an assembled unit ensures smooth rope glide through the brake during ascents. The ergonomic handle provides excellent grip and facilitates movement while limb walking. Thanks to the openable side plate, installation is quick and easy.

Petzl ZigZag Mechanical Prusik

The Petzl ZIGZAG mechanical Prusik allows the user to move around efficiently in a tree using classic Prusik pulley system technique. The friction chain provides precision and fluidity when moving around. The pulley is mounted on sealed ball bearings to allow the slack to be taken up easily. Can be used on either doubled ropes or a single rope, providing great versatility. The lower attachment hole is fixed to ensure alignment of the device with the axis of the worker and to optimize grip.

Yates Gear Tactical Rappel Belt with Cobra Waist Buckle

Designed in conjunction with Navy military Special Ops units, this harness is worn as a duty belt. Navy rappel harness criteria mandate NFPA certification for all rappel and extraction harnesses. Stiffener webbing is sewn inside the belt area of the harness to support wearing a sidearm. The leg portion can be quickly donned by opening the pouch and securing the leg loop portions with quick-connect aluminum Cobra buckles. Harness rappel attachment D-ring located at waist level allows for the attachment of a chest harness section (424LW ) to convert this harness into a full-body harness for extraction situations.

An upgrade to the 320USN, this duty belt/harness adds Cobra buckles on each leg and a pouch up front so the legs can be stored out of the way until needed.Certified by UL to NFPA Class II standards and includes a front D Ring for quick attachment of rappel device or metal connectors for extraction. A single rear left gear loop has been stiffened up to better carry equipment.

Compatible with the 424LW chest harness to make a full body harness when necessary.
